Canton is close enough to Atlanta to be considered part of the metro area, but far enough to be at the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. With the majesty of the mountains and the Etowah River flowing through the town, the natural beauty of the town's area is just one reason to live in Canton.
Canton is also enjoying the greatest economic boom in its history, as it is the fifth-fastest growing city in the nation. The Historic Canton Theatre on Main Street features plays and other special entertainment events throughout the year, bringing vigor into the downtown business district. Streets in the downtown area were recently improved as part of the "Streetscapes" program, and there is extensive green space with Heritage Park.
