Filled with tree-lined streets and antebellum mansions, Augusta is the second-oldest city in Georgia, and is nestled along the banks of the Savannah River. The area's three largest employers include the Savannah River Site, the U.S. Army Signal Center and Fort Gordon, and the Medical College of Georgia.

In addition to being internationally known as the home of the Masters Championship tournament in golf, there are many shops, restaurants, historic and cultural attractions in this charming city. Such attractions include the Augusta Museum of History, Clarks Hill Lake, Confederate Powderworks, Cotton Exchange, Fort Discovery, Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History, the Morris Museum of Art, and Riverwalk Augusta. Finally, the city adopted the motto "We Feel Good" in recognition of native son and music legend, James Brown.
